Searching Chappaquiddick

The day following the passing of Ted Kennedy, the national news media was abuzz in covering not only his death, but also his life. As people turned to the Internet to learn more, 34 of the top 100 Google searches from August 26, involved Kennedy, the Kennedy family, Mary Jo Kopechne, and/or Chappaquiddick. Kopechne/Chappaquiddick searches composed 8 of the 34 directly related to Kennedy.

Kennedy's early endorsement of Obama in January, 2008 may have been the key moment in the race for the Democratic nomination. Had Kennedy thrown his support behind Hillary Clinton - she probably would have faced off against John McCain in the November elections. The only way to make any sense with respect to the benefits of a Kennedy endorsement, is to acknowledge that liberals either don't know or don't care about his sordid past.

No doubt, there are millions of twenty-something Americans that first learned of Chappaquiddick and Kopechne on August 26. I hope that they are now asking the questions the rest of us have been thinking about for years. Why did Kennedy walk away with only a misdemeanor traffic charge? How was he able to continue to get reelected and occupy a seat in the U.S. Senate for the next 40 years?

  1. The sad thing is that the dumbass Democrats who've known all along about Chappaquiddick are praising this bastard.

  2. And they're praising him as a champion of health care reform that would provide government funded abortions because, as one of my liberal, and now EX, friends said in an email this week, to paraphrase: yes, we kill unborn children so that young and ill-fit mothers who haven't garnered enough nutrients won't produce sickly children who are a burden to the health care system for the rest of their lives.

This is what we're up against, folks: people who believe that you can't teach a young man or woman to keep their pants on long enough to know what they are doing in this world. And...well...maybe they're right, if you consider that gubmint at every step of the way purports to take care of you, from when you're a baby to when you're an old codger, just as long as you're PRODUCTIVE to society.

And if not? It's curtains for you, my friend!

  3. DD, your former friend's comments are disturbing.

Does this mean he/she is opposed the the hundreds of thousand of perfectly healthy babies that are aborted everyear?

Would he/she support 'fourth trimester' abortions for babies who are born with health problems?

ObamaCare: Killing making life and death decision for you from the womb to the grave.
